EVANGELISM

What is evangelism?

Evangelism is a clear presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, including his life, death, and miraculous resurrection. When we share the good news, we do so in a way that encourages unbelievers to take a step of faith in Jesus.

Why we evangelize?

The Bible is clear that faith comes through hearing the gospel. With that in mind, we share the message of Jesus Christ one-on-one or in small group settings and boldly invite all those who hear to follow Jesus.

How we Evangelize the Lost

We are committed to leveraging creative platforms to strategically spread the gospel among the unreached. Our goal in sharing the good news is to ultimately connect new believers to local churches where they are discipled and sent out to continue the mission in their communities.

Some of our evangelism strategies include…

  • Host short-term mission teams
  • Trained missionaries and national evangelists
  • JESUS Film projects

Equip local believers

What does it mean to equip believers?

We strive to put simple, reproducible, and Biblical tools in our national partners’ hands that empower them to share the gospel, make disciples, and plant churches in their spiritually dark communities.

Why do we equip believers?

We believe local leaders are the key to sustainable church planting movements in unreached areas, and desire that they thrive in their identity as Christ’s ambassadors. Through our equipping efforts, we give our national partners the confidence and skills they need to build strong, grace-oriented gospel movements.

How we equip local believers

Our equipping strategy takes our national partners on a journey through various obedience-based trainings so that they have the skills and resources necessary to make disciples and plant rapidly multiplying churches. As these leaders display commitment to the mission, they advance through the following training modules.

  • FourFields Training
  • Children's  Bible Stories
  • Women’s Ministry Training
  • Pastoral and Leadership Training

Every great story has its origins. This is ours. Spanish River gets its name from where we first met on Spanish River Boulevard. Today, we're a multiethnic gathering of people whose lives have been reoriented by God. We are unified because we understand how God's love has been extended to us. As a result, we enjoy extending God's love to others.

For nearly 60 years, Spanish River Church has remained dedicated to the principles of our founding pastor, David Nicholas. David was succeeded by Tommy Kiedis until 2019. In June of 2020, we introduced our third lead pastor, David Cassidy. Through God’s immeasurable love and grace, we have had the privilege of opening our very own Private School, Counseling Center, and partnered to plant over 600 churches worldwide.

While our facilities and presence in the community have grown over time, we have always maintained that church is so much more than a place you "go to." Instead, it's a people who experience, model, and share the good news of God's love, and we believe that the best is before us.

The feeding program is a great tool as we see many come to Christ through the feeding program. The food is supplied by Convoy of Hope - Springfield, MO
